There is an option in the installer which asked if you wanted to help Comodo by allowing them to change your home page to Yahoo. It is automatically checked by default, but can be unchecked.
There was not installation dialog as I were only purchasing licence extension.
Some geekbudy/msi (re)installation occured, but without asking me anything.
But even if it asked, I still don’t consider “checked by default” as lucky choice, when installing security software.
I understand your frustration, and I also wish it was unchecked by default, but I have attached a screenshot of the installation screen which shows the box where it states that it would change the home-page of the browsers unless the box is unchecked.
GeekBuddy installation is another aspect of the installer I would like to see changed. To prevent it from installing GeekBuddy you have to click on the option at the bottom of the installer window labeled “Customize Installer”. This allows you to uncheck the box for the installation of GeekBuddy. However, GeekBuddy can easily be uninstalled from your computer through Add/Remove programs.
From the information you have given I am not clear whether this is a bug/issue.
For the moment I will transfer you to help so you can work through this issue with users and mods in this forum and hopefully resolve it. I hope that is OK.
Please ask any mod to move this report back to the bugs forum if it becomes clear that it is a bug/issue.
