What's new? ---------------------------------------- - synchronization mode backups
??? I dont see the option! Was waiting for this...

Also, does the Check for update use the firewall settings we have in IE? Seems not because I get a cannot connect to update server. Maybe you will tell me it’s because there is no such server for now. ;D

The option is available when you schedule the backup. One of the schedule mode available is ‘Synchronization Mode’

You firewall might prevent CB from accessing the update server.

Thank you

Ok I found it but this version does not seem to have a service running so if I close CBU there is no sync. As soon as I start it there is a backup that start. I tried to restart the computer if a service would install and I see nothing.

When it’s time to give a destination it keeps suggesting .cbu to the end while I want to specify a directory only. In v1 you only give a directory and it create a mirror of source. v2 create only a file. Can’t we have the option to run it exactly like in v1? I like to be able to go into the destination retreive a file without having to run a program to do so.

You firewall might prevent CB from accessing the update server.

Many other programs use IE setting and have no problem checking for updates. CBU fails. It may be a good idea to add a Proxy settings tab under settings so we can manually enter this. Note that I’m telling you this only to help because I don’t use CBU at work, just testing it while it’s easy and at home I have no need for Proxy settings.

Great work guys!

Good work guys!

Didn’t mean to sound bitter, of course, good work!

Multi language support and the help file considerably increased the file size.

So? Any hope for an answer or I’ll see in RC4? ??? I’m afraid you go live with next release, usually there is not so much RC before a final version so could it be that sync mode will no longer work when comodo backup is not running? :-\ And no simple mirror option?

We’ll include a service in the next release.
Thank you for your support and suggestions.

You’re welcome. yay! Will it support unique cbu archive file or mirror option will also be added?

There are more advantages when storing the backup content in a .cbu file so we’ll stick to that method.
Using the application you can retrieve only a subset of the backed up files.

Thank you for your support.

Like compression? Will it work in sync mode also? And what about delete propagation, is it added this time?

I know I have the choice to keep going with v1 instead, I’m only missing the delete propagation. Switching to v2 with a single compressed file and propagate deletes sound a good solution that would probably make me do the upgrade. Let me know!

Thank you for your answer.

In RC3, if you delete a file/folder from source, it will propagate into destination (.cbu file), if it is a sync mode backup. It doesn’t matter if it is compressed or encrypted.
But, for this to happen you need to keep CBU.exe running.

And in RC4 no need to keep CBU running because you added a service, right?

Excellent, thank you.

wow, that should be really cool! Thank you guys)))
