The bug/issue
- What you did: Installed fresh Win XP SP3 and Free CIS (Antivirus and Firewall only), set up internet connection, updated virus definitions, restarted.
- What actually happened or you actually saw: Exclaimation mark on COMODO Notification Area icon, main program window says “COMODO Application Agent is not running”.
- What you expected to happen or see: Warning about no full scan yet, otherwise no alerts
- How you tried to fix it & what happened: Ran “Diagnostics” (“did not find any problems with your installation”); checked for program updates (“product is currently up to date”); checked if cmdagent and cfp were running (yes). - CIS version, AV database version & configuration used: 5.5.195786.1383, currently 9694 (sorry, don’t know exact AV version at time of error, it’s been updated since then), Internet Security config

b) if so, have you tried a clean reinstall (without losing settings - if not please do)?: Not applicable - a) Have you imported a config from a previous version of CIS: No
b) if so, have U tried a standard config (without losing settings - if not please do)?: Not applicable - Have you made any other major changes to the default config? (eg ticked ‘block all unknown requests’, other egs here.): No. Only config change made at all was to show balloon messages.
- Defense+, Sandbox, Firewall & AV security levels: D+=Safe mode , Sandbox=Enabled , Firewall = Safe mode , AV = Stateful
- OS version, service pack, number of bits, UAC setting, & account type: Windows XP, SP3, 32-bit, None in XP, Admin account
- Other security and utility software installed: None. Windows Firewall is off.
- Virtual machine used (Please do NOT use Virtual box): None.
