I hope this is the right section…
Anyway, I have tested and confirmed with the guys at Cyberlink that having the Antivirus module in CIS installed makes PowerDVD 9 Ultra crash…
Symptoms :
- When you run PDVD for the first time after rebooting, you have to run it twice for the window to even appear
- Trying to watch a DVD makes PDVD9U crash
- Going to the Settings/Video tab makes PDVD9U crash
- Deactivating the antivirus module through the right click menu on the taskbar icon doesn’t work, PDVD still crashes the same way
- Uninstalling CIS and reinstalling it without the antivirus does the trick, PDVD9U works fine afterwards.
My PC specs (latest available drivers for everything) :
- Athlon 64X2 4200+ with 2GB of RAM
- Nvidia 8800GT
- Creative X-Fi platinum
- Windows 7 Home Premium (French)
- Latest available version of CIS to date
I asked CL for a bit more info on the how and the whys… Don’t know if I’ll get any, but hey, it doesn’t hurt to try. How can I help ?
