I unblocked Carbonite using instructions on the forum. But everytime I restart the machine Comodo appears to be blocking the program because it does not show up in the “Active Connections” page. How do I find where the program is being blocked?

If CIS’s Firewall is blocking something then, by default, you should expect to find a corresponding block entry the Firewall’s event log. Alternatively, if Defense+ blocked an internal DNS lookup request by Carbonite, that should be in the Defense+ event log. However, rules can override all of this.
Where are the Carbonite instructions that you followed? It might help if I reviewed them, I’m not familiar with Carbonite.
