Comodo always blocking Maxthon

Hi

I have maxthon as trusted application, and comodo firewall is always blocking Maxthon browser to access the internet, Why?

Logs are the key, agent007.

If you would do the following:

Go to Activity/Logs. Right-click an entry and select, “Clear all Logs.”

Reboot. Then open Maxthon and try to browse. When it fails, go to Activity/Logs.

Right-click an entry and select, “Export to HTML.” Save and reopen the file. Highlight and Copy the entries, then Paste them into the textbox of your next post. At that point you can edit out your personal IP with “x” for privacy.

Then we’ll see what we’ve got.

Hi again, the problem is still there, here are the reasons…

Date/Time :2007-03-23 21:49:26
Severity :Medium
Reporter :Component Monitor
Description: Unknown Components (Maxthon.exe)
Application: E:\Program Files\Maxthon 2\Maxthon.exe
Parent: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
Protocol: UDP Out
Destination: 10275
Details: E:\Program Files\Maxthon 2\Maxthon.exe contains 1 components to be approved
Components: E:\Program Files\Maxthon 2\mxfeedU.dll

Date/Time :2007-03-23 21:49:45
Severity :High
Reporter :Application Monitor
Description: Application Access Denied (Maxthon.exe:dns(53))
Application: E:\Program Files\Maxthon 2\Maxthon.exe
Parent: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

Details: Maxthon.exe contains the component 㩃坜义佄南卜獹整㍭尲牢睯敳極搮汬 that is defined to be blocked.

Date/Time :2007-03-23 21:49:46
Severity :Medium
Reporter :Application Monitor
Description: Application Access Denied (Maxthon.exe:http(80))
Application: E:\Program Files\Maxthon 2\Maxthon.exe

Destination:http(80)

Well, the entry at 21:49:26 would tie in to a popup alert about components to be approved.

the entry at 21:45:26 indicates that the user chose to block the components.

The entry at 21:49:46 shows that Maxthon was blocked (because the component was blocked).

If you block a component, CFP deems that there is a problem, that your application has been compromised, and blocks its connection. If you find this component in the Component Monitor, change its type to Allow, then click Apply. Try it again.

Another thing that I see is that Maxthon is running off of e:\ drive. To what drive do you have Comodo installed?

LM

Comodo is installed in drive E

I just fixed the problem, thanx for all your help.

Good, I’m glad to hear it. What was it that did the trick, so other users will know?

LM

PS: Comodo’s products have a history of malfunctioning if installed anywhere other than the default c:\ drive, just FYI.
