Comodo 6 switching off firewall/behavior blocker problem

Hello,

Comodo firewall 6 is installed on two of my computers, a desktop and a laptop, both running Windows 8 64 bit. On the laptop, if I try to turn off the firewall or behavior blocker through the sliders on the Comodo home screen (the ones associated with “Realtime Protection”), or by right-clicking on the Comodo tray icon, the “Turn off” notification window (the one that also allows selecting the time interval for which the component should stay disabled) pops up for a fraction of a second, then disappears, and the firewall or behaviour blocker remains turned on.

None of this happens on the desktop, and everything works as intended. The only way to turn off the firewall or behavior blocker on the laptop is to go through the advanced settings. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the firewall, but this does not change anything.

Any suggestions as to how to recover the normal behavior of Comodo 6 on the laptop would be much appreciated.

I’m sorry to say that this appears to be a bug with the new version on certain systems running Windows 8 x64. The bug report can be found here. To ensure that it will be fixed in the next version it would be very helpful if you could read through the bug report I linked to and add any information you think may be relevant for your system. It may even be helpful to use the full bug report format.

By the way, does this problem persist even after you restart your computer?

Thanks.

Sorry, I had not noticed that report, as I first saw the problem when experimenting with the Comodo home screen switches. I have replied in greater detail in the other thread.

Thank you very much. I’m sorry you ran into this problem.

Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.
