CMDAGENT.EXE is using a lot of RAM

Hi, I wrote my problem in some similar topics, but no one didn’t answer it,so I decided to create a new topic.
When I knew COMODO , I was so happy that I’ve found a very good security suit, at last.
but after some days when I updated my V DB , I found out that the CMDAGENT process of COMODO uses a lot of RAM.
I did everything to solve this problem but till now , it’s still remaining.
I re-installed COMODO , it was good at first , but after the update of V DB, the problem returned.
even I re-installed my windows, but there was no change.

could someone help me? I like COMODO and I don’t want to be forced to uninstall it forever.

my system:
win Xp sp3
RAM : 512 Mb

and it’s a screen shot of my running process ( using “Process Explorer” ) :

We would very much appreciate it if you would edit your first post to create an issue report in line with the bug forum guidelines and format here. You can copy and paste the format from this topic.

To understand the reasons why we ask you to follow these guidelines please see below.

WHY WE ASK YOU TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES
Bugs/issues can be impossible or very time consuming to fix if developers don’t have enough information to reproduce them. Since CIS is free, development time is limited. So if you want your issue fixed, please use the format below to describe it.

To avoid clutter, issues not described in the format below your post will not be moved to the ‘moderator verified’ issues topic. This means that the developers may not look at it.

Best wishes and many thanks in anticipation

Hey and Welcome Shahrouz

cmdagent uses is little ram for being Internet security

when you download CIS is says that should have at least 128Mb. My recommendation is that you updrage your ram; 512 Mb is way to little. 1.0 Gb or 1,5Gb is a good enough.

Valentin

Updating the database is resource intensive. The RAM usage should drop once the update is complete. Does it stay at the high usage indefinitely?

Shahrouz,

you’re looking at wrong columns. What is important - when comparing to the size of your RAM - is the working set, which you have small, actually. Look here or here to see what’s the meaning of various memory indicators.

  Martin.

while the private bytes are still higher than what i would expect.

usually, when you run a game, the operating system would take away ram from processes that do not need to have these ram actually. without running ram consuming processes, many processes take some more as what is needed.

an example are messengers. while some have 40mb ram usage, after running a game, it can happen that they use suddenly only 10mb in the working set.

i would suggest you to use comodo firewall and defense+, and choose another antivirus, that does not need so much ram. avira personal free edition (not for commercial use) is a very good antivirus. so, together with the very good parts of comodo you get the best possible protection. you dont have to uninstall comodo forever, its just the comodo antivirus part that is not “perfect”.

We would very much appreciate it if you would edit your first post to create an issue report in line with the bug forum guidelines and format here. You can copy and paste the format from this topic.

Unfortunately we do need this issue to be reported in the right format, and with all the information we have asked for, if we are to forward it to verified issues.

For the moment I am going to move it to the Orphaned/Resolved child board. If you do edit your post to create a complete issue report in standard format, and PM an active mod, we will of course consider moving it to verified reports.

The devs only look at the Orphaned/Resolved board if they have time, so please do edit the post and PM an active mod if you want it fixed.
