I have Comodo Firewall 6.3.302093.2976. The problems started after installing the new version, I used to have the on with the old interface (probably version 5 but not sure).
So here is the description of the problem:
Whenever I open a program, or a tab in browser, or load a large page or when it feels like otherwise cmdagent use jumpt to 25% and stays there for 1-2 (sometimes 5) minutes. I should say that I have 2 core processor with 4 virtual cores. Sometimes (usually if I’m also doing sth else) the cpu use is higher (usually 26-33%), I thing cmdagent hogs 1 core for whatever reason and then does some other stuff on another core.
I tried reinstalling. First time I uninstalled it, ran registry cleaner and deleted all Comodo folders on C drive. Second time I used a uninstaller I found on this forum and even ran registry search for Comodo and deleted them. The problem is still there.
1 core of my processor seems to be on max over half the time. Also cmdagent RAM use jumps from 6M to 15+M.
Please help.
Hi and welcome karts22,
I have seen reports of similar issues with some systems using V6.X, with no reliable definite cure.
I haven’t seen such issues with cmdagent when using CIS V7 which is currently available through the Forum.
The link is below if you are willing to try it.
COMODO Internet Security 7.0.313494.4115 Released!
Edit: COMODO Internet Security 7.0.315459.4132 Released!
Kind regards.
I updated to firewall v7 but the problem is stil there.
Do you think using CIS7 will fix it? Wouldn’t that just have some extra stuff to the same firewall?
Hi karts22,
V7 has numerous bug fixes over V6 versions so I thought it might have helped.
The latest version also fixed some CPU issues that I had with the previous version.
I am not experiencing any issues that you have described, sorry I am not sure what to suggest.
Do you have any other active security programs installed?
I have Avast Free Antivirus
same 7.0.315459.4132
