Hi… what is the function of cloud scanning in Antivirus of CIS? If i enable the cloud scanning, comodo take about 40% - 60% of my CPU usage.
Hey and warm welcome to Comodo forums.
Here is comodo’s explanation of what cloud scanner does: Instructs Comodo Internet Security to perform cloud based antivirus scanning. Selecting this option quickens scanning and enables to detect the very latest malware, viruses and rootkits more accurately, as the scanning is performed with real-time connection to Comodo’s online database. The cloud scanning enables detection of zero-day malware even if you do not have an up-to-date local antivirus database or a local antivirus database at all.
I have cloud scanning on and I don’t get such high cpu usage. What security product did you use before Comodo?

Thanks for your help & explanation. I have do more test, and sorry i was wrong, it’s not cause by cloud scanning, but it takes a lot of resource of my CPU if i enable “Submit unknown files for analysis” under the “Cloud scanning” setting.
could you tell me if you have other security software? I don’t what you have for knowledge regarding security software but you shouldn’t have two antivirus with protection/scanner or firewalls programs active at the same time so disable Comodo’s reatime protection/scanner or the antivirus. same goes for firewalls.
I hope this will help a bit.
I would like to know what security software you use so that I can help you.

Yes, i also use avast 5 free edition. But everything going well and fast, except if i enable that “submit unknown files for analysis” setting.
then I recommend you to disable the realtime protection from CAV if you intend to use Avast as your primary AV. If you want to talk and get help straight ahead look at my signature how you can get in contact with me.

try to see if that solves the high cpu usage other you might be forced to uninstall the AV component. Add the Avast exe/folder in exclusion of detect shellcode injections (CIS —> Defense+ —> Defense+ Settings —> Execution control Settings —> Detect shellcode injections (i.e. Buffer overflow protection) —> Exclusions —> Add —> Browse…)
