Windows 8.1 3: What you did:
HIPS is activated in Safe Mode with all the monitoring settings ON
option ‘Do NOT show popup alerts’ is OFF
option ‘Set popup alerts to verbose mode’ is ON
option ‘Enable adaptive mode under low system resources’ is ON 4: What you actually saw:
With the above options on, it’s quite common to HIPS alert multiple things at the same time. When two or more pop ups appear, the user is only able to choose the action for the top most popup. As soon as the option is choosen, the other popups are also closed 5: What you expected to happen or see:
The lower popups should still be visible after the first one is closed and the user should be able to choose the action for each one individually 6: If possible attach a screenshot illustrating the GUI problem
Not possible to illustrate the problem using screenshots
This is a very strange issue. I have never heard of an issue where the below popups are closed after answering one. They should all stay until you are finished.
Are you sure that the alerts are not just timing out, as there is a certain amount of time after which the popups will time out and default to blocked? Roughly how long do you wait to answer the topmost alert?
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
There’s no timeout. I can see the two pop-ups being created one after the other but i’m only able to set the action for the last one.
To try to reproduce, i would recommend setting up the Comodo with a clean configuration and with HIPS and Firewall disabled. After that activate the Firewall and the HIPS for all the monitoring settings as described above and start doing things that can trigger the pop ups like using programs that modify the registry and use the internet at the same time…
I’ll keep an eye for events that can trigger this specific issue and let you know if I find out anything.
It is very strange that I have not heard of this sort of issue before. Therefore, it’s possible that this issue is related to something particular about your configuration, your system, or perhaps both.
Thus, in order to make sure that there is enough information for the devs please edit your first post so that it is in the format provided here. This will ensure that the devs have enough information to replicate this.
If you have any questions about how to do this please feel free to ask. I am absolutely willing to help.
Thank you. However, there is no need to create a new topic for this. You can just edit your first post into the correct format. If you have any questions about how to do that I can help.
Not yet.
I’ll continue to work with Comodo. In the case that i see this issue happening again, I’ll try to study it in detail and find a way to replicate it.
In the meantime, we can put this thread on standby.
Okay, I’ll wait two days before moving this to the Incomplete Issue Reports board. There the devs will not look it over, but it will essentially be waiting in standby until you believe you have enough information that this can be replicated and put in the correct format.
I will now move this to the Incomplete Issue Reports board.
Topics in this board are not looked at by the devs. The reason is that putting bug reports in the required format, with the required files, ensures that the devs have enough information to understand and identify the bug.
To get your report forwarded to the devs please modify your first post so that it is in the format I requested, with all required information filled out. Then let me know.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (8.0.0.4337)? Please respond to this topic letting us know whether it is fixed or if you are still experiencing the problem.
Also, note that all bug reports in the Non-Format section of the forum, which is where this report currently is, are mainly not looked at by the devs. Thus, if the bug you were experiencing is still not fixed please edit your first post so that it is in the correct format (found here, with all required attachments), so I can forward this to the devs and get this problem fixed.
