CIS v6 Blocking Internet Access

Hello,

I was using free CIS v5.12. I did upgrade to v6 and as soon as it installs Kernal Driver it blocks total access to internet. I thought something went wrong during upgrade so, I did a complete uninstall and then installed v6 direct. Again the result is same :-\

I have installed v6 twice and no luck. Please help me on this. I am on Windows 8 Pro x64 w/ Media Center.

Regards~

My advice, although you probably don’t want to hear it, is to reinstall CIS again. However, instead of just uninstalling and reinstalling please follow the advice I give in this post. Also, please uninstall any other security software you may have installed as it’s possible that it’s interfering with the installation.

Please let me know if reinstalling by following those extra steps helps. Be sure to run the uninstaller tool twice after uninstalling the tool, with a restart in-between.

Thanks.

I have already tried these steps with no success at all. I have no other security software installed on PC. From what I think has been happening is that the Firewall Driver is missing after the installation because I do not see any Drivers related to COMODO in Device Manager (show hidden is ticked).

I’ve had the same problem. I’m waiting on the next release.

Thanks for heads up. I’m using CIS v6 with Firewall Driver Disabled in LAN Adapter for now, internet works like this

Sometimes it happens that you can’t connect to the internet after uninstalling, using the unofficial clean up tool or trying a manual deinstallation. Then the Inspect driver is still present and needs to be uninstalled. In your case the Inspect driver of 5.12 may still be present. Can you check the version number of inspect.sys in \windows\system32\drivers folder"?

If you feel like testing. I know it is a pain to ask but please uninstall v6 and reboot then follow the following steps to make sure the Inspect driver is no longer there. This way you start the installation of v6 with clean slate. If that does not solve it then I would call it a bug.

How to uninstall the CIS firewall driver when it stays present? Look up the properties of the network connection, select the Comodo Firewall driver and uninstall it. See the attached image.

At the moment CIS v6 is installed and the inspect.sys is v6.0.64131.2674

When I uninstall v6, COMODO Internet Security Firewall Driver is also removed as it doesn’t show in LAN Adapter Properties.

I know there is Plug and PlaySection in Device Manager under Windows 7 where you can find COMODO Internet Security Firewall Driver, but there is none under Windows 8.
