CIS Updated to a non-existant version, and wants to update itself further!!

I have a weird update issue… to start with I had version 3.5.54375.427.

I was notified of an update, which I installed. After that I had Version “3.5.55810.432”

BUT immediately after I rebooted, I got asked to update again! I said no as I thought I already had the latest version.

But a few days later I clicked update anyway - now I have a version which doesn’t exist!!! “3.5.57173.439”

And the other problem is that CIS still says there is an update available… What’s going on?? ???

3.5.57173.439 is the latest version out right now. Why it is still saying there are updates, I do not know but some others have had this problem.

Your AV is also not updated. Yours is at 455 where 708 is the current.

That’s weird. I clicked “update database” and it tells me I have the latest version. it’s still at 455. what’s up with that?

Did you ever use the Beta\RC versions of CIS?

Instead of fixing things, I think it would be better if you uninstall and do a clean install by downloading latest CIS. Your annoyance could be a carry forward of a previous installation problem. There were some problems reported in the past of virus updations when migrating from RC, which need editing in the registry for virus updations.

Otherwise, do a clean install.

That’s probably it, I installed the beta on day one and have just been updating it since.

I’ll do a clean reinstall :wink:
