CIS UI appears to sleep if not accessed regularly [V6][M260]

A. THE BUG/ISSUE (Varies from issue to issue)
When using CIS version 6, if the UI is not accessed frequently, it appears to ‘sleep’. The consequence of this is, it takes a considerable amount of time for the UI to open, following this period of inactivity. However, if the UI is closed and immediately re-opened, it will do so almost immediately.

    Always reproducible

  • If U can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened:

  1. Install CIS and configure as required.
  2. Allow the application to run for several days (normal operation)
  3. After four or five days the problem described above manifests
  • If not obvious, what U expected to happen:
    It shouldn’t become unresponsive.

  • If a software compatibility problem have U tried the conflict FAQ?:
    It may be a compatibility issue but I have no way of knowing what it is.

  • Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version:
    Too many applications to list. See reports for an idea of what’s installed.

  • Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how U tried to fix it etc:
    No idea. However, see UI opening/navigation starting to slow down…again! for some additional detail.

  • Always attach - Diagnostics file, Watch Activity process list, (dump if freeze/crash). If complex - CIS logs & config, screenshots, video, zipped program (not m’ware)

Firewall in Custom Policy mode with Alert Frequency on Very High. Default firewall rules removed.

Same problem here. My computer at work (XP x32 SP3) exhibit exactly the same behavior.
I’ve installed CIS on a fresh XP x32 SP3 on another computer at work and same behavior again.

Surprisingly at home on Seven x64 SP1 everything is fine. ???

LE: OK I’ve made a short(?) video with opening CIS from tray and click Advanced setting.

Note to QA: the referenced thread provides detailed timings which indicate the severity of the problem

Developers may or may or may not communicate with you in the forum or by PM/IM, depending on time availability and need. Because you have supplied complete information they may be able to replicate and fix the bug without doing so.

I’m still getting this on 6.1.276867.2813 usually rears its ugliness when scrolling trusted files, or my growing list of firewall rules. Its bad enough that windows detects it has a hung application (white out overlay), usually I just wait 5-15 seconds and it resumes.

Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (6.2.282872.2847)? Please let us know whether it is fixed or you are still experiencing the problem.

The devs have informed me that they believe that this is fixed for CIS version 7.0.313494.4115. I will therefore move this to Resolved.
