CIS Self-Protection

I have noticed that CIS, by default, adds CIS related registry keys in “Protected Registry Keys” to prevent malware from tampering them. I see two CIS service keys - cmdagent & cmdguard - under HKLM\System\ControlSet\Services and CIS has these two covered under Important Keys - HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet???\Services*. So, are the regisrty keys under CIS’ protection same as the CIS service keys in the registry? Can I manually add them under “COMODO Keys” since I have removed “Important Keys” from the list of registry entries to be protected by Comodo?

Hi metalforlife,

No, I don’t believe they are the same.

Can I manually add them under "COMODO Keys" since I have removed "Important Keys" from the list of registry entries to be protected by Comodo?
Yes, you could add generally to list or to the group by using the group button. And yes I would do so. Just copy and paste your own line HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet???\Services\* into the path bar in the add window and apply your way out.

Just curious…

I have removed "Important Keys" from the list of registry entries to be protected by Comodo?
Why?
