I have posted this topic elsewhere but thought it might get a better response here.
I am still experiencing the well known slow down after COMODO Auto update runs on my fresh install of CIS_Setup_3.13.121240.574_XP_Vista_x32.exe.
I have applied the fix, both options, listed by Egemen, and although this works initially after the next Auto update, at 1:00 am in the morning (in this case to Virus Database: 3388), the PC slows dramatically on startup, program load and file editing.
My PC:
XP Pro SP3
AsRock P4i65G
P4-478, Prescott, 3.2GHz,
2Gb DDR400 Ram,
256MB GeForce FX5500,
2 x 80GB IDE-7200 rpm
Asus DVD =+/-RW
I know the PC is a bit old, like me, but boot up with a fresh [non-updated] CIS 3.13.121240.457 is 45 seconds, programs load in about 5 – 8 seconds, files are almost instantaneous and mouse response and keyboard input seamless.
However after the latest Virus Database update the PC takes 3.2 minutes to load, previously 45 seconds.
Word XP takes 1.45 minutes to load [from fresh re-start], previously 5 seconds [from fresh re-start with no prefetch], files take forever to load and mouse and keyboard input is dangerous for the time lag can often create BSOD situations.
Could someone PLEASE make this a serious issue and get the program fixed!
