having issues with comodo dragon also - the homepage doesnt load( http://www.comodo.com/) but im still able to use it on other pages. keeps telling me it cant check for new version and to retry
im using comdos secure dns on computer, but cant access comodo.com on my ipod either
are there any other update hosts for firewall i can try?
thank you all for your time
btw im using free firewall and first noticed dragon homepage not working since saturday evening
It looks like it may have been an ISP specific routing issue. All the members that reported this seemed to be using the same ISP. Other UK based members (myself included), using different ISP’s, didn’t experience this problem.
Update: Sorry all, the ISP in question was Be (O2) Broadband.
thanks for the info kail - only just seen it now. came back to report that problem has returned - cant update dragon or firewall or access www.comodo.com was nice while it lasted lol :‘( :’(
I’m sorry to hear this. Can you run a “tracert www.comodo.com” from the Command Prompt and post the result here. Please note if www.comodo.com is working at the time or not, thanks.
It would be best to have a tracert when it is working & when it’s not.
Example tracert…
C:\Users\kail>tracert www.comodo.com

FYI
You are spot on, I haven’t been able to get on here for any long period since Saturday 14th April 2012 (O2 customer)
O2/Be are well aware of the issues and World War 3 has broken out on their forums as this is a peering problem with their network.
Presently all appears fine here
Probably NOT an issue confined to a single ISP. Experiencing same message (“Failed to update the virus signature database. Please check your internet connection and try again later”) now on APRIL 29th, 2012.
My ISP is ROADRUNNER.COM through cable operator TIME WARNER. I notice that this problem goes back the better part of a year? Surely someone at Comodo has a solution??? Otherwise, I suspect that my worst fears have been realized. COMODO, is simply a front for an series of usells (failed services) to the paid “Geekbuddy” subscription. Jeeezus I am getting tired of this kind of deceptive marketing. Why don’t they just come out and tell you the price? I don’t mind paying. I just don’t like my computer filtered through some unknown entity’s back door on the other side of the world.
Hi jajerf55,
I can assure you that no deception from Comodo is present.
Please calm down and take some deep breaths and we the users of Comodo will try to help.
Now back to the update issue which only a small percentage has experienced, if you have had troubles for a long period of time I would suggest trying a fresh uninstall/reinstall to see if that helps solve your issues in case some corruption of your install is present. Download CIS
