CIS blocking port-forwarding in utorrent?

Hi there!

I issued a kind of problem: I got the new router from my ISP and made the settings of port-forwarding for my utorrent-port according to many port-fowarding instructions like setting a static ip-address and so on. Well, my problem is that CIS has a rule for utorrent (under Firewall → network security policy → application rules - and port groups) a forwarded port, but forwarding is still not working. Any clue? ??? ??? ??? THX!

We’ll need a few more details, such as details of the firewall rules you have created for utorrent as well as details of how you’ve enabled port forwarding on the router.

I’ll try to make some screenshots

here they are…

From the looks of your screenshots, you’ve made your rules too restrictive. When someone connects to you via utorrent, their connection may originate on any port and will connect to your defined utorrent port (59021) Likewise, when you make a connection to someone else using utorrent, your connections may use any port and will connect to the other persons dedicated utorrent port. To cater for this your rules should look something like this:

Action - Allow
Protocol - TCP or UDP
Direction - In
Source Address - ANY
Destination Address - ANY
Source Port - ANY
Destination Port - 59021

Action - Allow
Protocol - TCP or UDP
Direction - Out
Source Address - ANY
Destination Address - ANY
Source Port - ANY
Destination Port - ANY

You can take a look at this thread for more information. Although it’s for version 5 the rules are still appropriate in version 6.

hello!
where I can make this settings?

I followed that thread and made all those instructions, but not working

strange:
I enbled in utorrent-settings the UPnP Port Mapping and NAT-PMP Port Mapping (Settings->Connection) and Auto Port Mapping (at that test after clicking the green symbol at the down right corner of the main utorrent window) and enabled UPnP in my router and now it works.

Could it be that this stuff made the difference?

It really shouldn’t make any difference. If the information set in the router matches that of the firewall and the client, you don’t need UPnP, which is really just a convenience for those who can’t or don’t want to manually port forward.

well it looks like this in forwarding setting of the router:
