Hello! I have notebook Acer TravelMate 242X (Windows XP) with original (from producer Acer) equipment for IrDA connection. I installed CIS Premium 6 and it blocked IrDA connection with my phone. Notebook does not “see” the phone, CIS reports no notification on screen. I switched off Antivir, Firewal and Defense+, but nothing happend. After uninstalling CIS IrDA connection goes without problems on 100%. After installing CIS IrDA connection does not work again.
How can I setup CIS for IrDA connection without problems?
Thank you for help.
Really no ideas? I am totally helpless.
Do the Firewall or D+ logs bring us any insights here? Can you post a screenshot of them?
Try uninstalling the IrDA drivers and installing them again. Does that make a difference?
Thank you for your response.
Reinstallation IrDA drivers did not help, IrDA connection does not work.
When trying to establish a IrDA connection, CIS does not respond, no notice, no warning. In other cases (for example internet connection by upgrading programs) CIS “works” and asks permission.
In my opinion, problem arises at once by instalation CIS. Because when I switch off CIS (right click+end on icon CIS in right corner by clock), nothing happens.
Any other ideas, please ?
Are there executables related to IrDA that get sandboxed? Please check with Killswitch.
Right clicking on the icon in the systray does no disable anything. It just disables the systray.

All running processes are marked as reliable with no restriction. But I think there are running no executables related to IrDA. I think that the communication between the phone and the PC (and executables related to IrDA) does not start at all - and that´s the problem.

Right click on CIS icon [C] in systray and than left click on choice “END” influence my PC.
For example:
CIS is running and icon [C] is in the systray. I start program AVS DVD Player and click on icon for “AVS DVD Player HELP” - icon [?]. CIS shows notification and asks for permission to start file “avsdvdplayer.chm” and after that “AVS DVD Player Help” runs in sandbox.
But - when I do right click on CIS icon [C] and then left click on END, CIS icon [C] disappears. In this PC-condition the icon of “AVS DVD Player Help” [?] is totally dead, it does not respond at all. Also some other processes (like updating programs) are blocked.
Switching on/off CIS icon has no effect on IrDA connection as well as switching on/off Firewall, Defense or Antivirus.
Do you have Block all unknown requests if the application is closed enabled?
No. The box nearby this offer is unchecked.
My HIPS Settings:
Safe mode enabled (box checked), all other boxes (squares) on this list are unchecked.
Are there executables related to your IrDA connection in the background? If so try adding them to the Exceptions of Detect shellcode injections and see if that makes a difference or not.
