CIS av database updating

not sure where this goes.
i have dialup at home and can not update av database. stalls at 30%
is there a way to download the updates on a different computer?
thanks and sorry if this is in wrong place

Hello, I have not tried this myself, but I suppose it would work…

If you got CIS installed on a other computer that got antivirus definitions UPTODATE you can go to the comodo folder and search for a folder named “scanners”…

on XP usually located at “C:\Program\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\scanners” and try to copy those from the fully updated computer and save them to a disk/usb and bring them to the same folder “scanners” in the computer that has an old version of the AV database.

There might be issues with “the files is in use” and stuff like that, so maby you should try copy and replace them in safe mode…

Please note, I cant guarantee this will work…

Maby it will make CIS stop functioning, if you are unlucky… And don’t try replacing other CIS files. Sadly there is no official offline update file yet. =/

Also its normal that the AV update stalls (get stuck) at 30%, the precentage bar in the updater is sadly very inaccurate it usuall for it to stays at 30 and then go rocket fast to 100%…

You could let it “try” to update an hour or so… It usually works even if the process is slow, especially on dialup.
