CIS Antivirus Scan Exclusion Non-Functional II

New v3.8

I notice that the Exclusion list only works on the right click scanning. When right click scanning, my files I’ve selected are ignored as expected. When doing a drive scan such as My Computer from the CAV interface, my excluded files are scanned and flagged. It’s also ignored during Real Time Scanning as well.

I am having exactly the same problem. When right click scanning the excluded file is not detected. When doing my computer scan excluded file is flagged.

  1. CPU Athlon 64 X2 4600+
  2. Windows XP pro, service pack 3, 32 bit
  3. CIS 3.8.64263.468
  4. Antivirus - default settings
  5. Firewall - custom policy mode
  6. Defense+ - clean PC mode
  7. Administrator account

Same here

Right click scan behaves.
Manual scan - scans but doesn’t flag Exclusions
Scheduled scan - scans and flags Exclusions

CIS 3.8 XP Pro SP3

Excluded file detected during startup.

Probably during memory scan on start.

This isn’t new in 3.8, It was also non-functional in 3.5.

Anything excluded was still scanned, it just ignored any detections on the excluded files in 3.5. (Contrary to the behavior mentioned in the help file)

Exclusions shouldn’t be scanned, period…

This is still not working… the on-access scanner ignores exclusions.

It’s a show stopper for me. I’ve had to disable the AV and install another one. I have sunbelt remote administrator installed which I need and Comodo incorrectly flags the files as a virus every time the PC is booted. Every time I click add to exclusions it puts an identical entry in the exclusions list so there is now a huge list of the same path/files (a bug in itself). It still flags the file as a virus every time you boot.

Exclusions simply do not exclude the files from being scanned either on-access or through the disk scan.

Come on Comodo this really seems like an incredibly simple thing to fix. Just exclude the files from being scanned!

I’m hoping it will actually exclude files in the upcoming release promised at the end of this month.

It’s such basic functionality for an AV, I can’t imagine why it wasn’t added at the outset…

Anybody knows when this problem will be fixed?
