this has been occuring for the last two months. reboots do not help
there are NO solns on the web or furum page
There are no means to manulay d/l updates
manual “check for updates” in MORE tab results in the same failure to download
Many other web forum users report the same bug. No solns or suggestions work for me or others!

Download and save the file on your desktop
Reboot your computer in Safe-Mode
Open explorer and go to C:\Program files\comodo\comodo internet security\scanners
Rename existing bases.cav to bases.old
Copy and paste the downloaded bases.cav
Reboot your system in normal mode
I have seen these steps before. They did not resolve the update failure issue before and they did not resolve the issue again even after i d/l the update and applied your steps.
This issue is NOT unique to me. I have seen both blog reports and google search with people complaining about the same problem.
Can COMDO please provide a link for the latest Comodo Firewall + Antivirus

These show my system asking to do an auto update, the cocmodo d/l fails silently after 1%
The status page looks OK, but shows no version numbers, this is an area for GUI improvement
The two virus updates show the d/l starting and then failing
The two check for updates show the d/l starting and then failing with an error code.
