CIS 3.9.76924.507 causes system reboot

CIS 3.9.76924.507 causes system reboot

Completely uninstalled CIS 3.8.65951.477.

Performed a clean install of CIS 3.9.76924.507 (using Finnish as language).

When logged on the system as Administrator and launch the Firefox (3.0.10 FI) browser using the Run As (limited account user) option, CIS causes immediate system reboot.

Happens constantly at every attempt.

Due to this (CIS Firewall or D+) bug, had to uninstall 3.9.76924.507 and reinstall CIS 3.8.65951.477, which behaves normally in this respect.

Firewall Safe Mode
Defense+ Clean PC Mode

WXP SP2 32 bit + all Hotfixes
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 (8.0.0.506)
WinPatrol [PLUS] 16.0.2009.2 (FI)

Have a standard, optional configuration of WXP SP2, where:

  • System and [application] programs reside on drive D
  • Only the Documents and Settings directory reside on drive G
  • Only Windows Page (Swap) file resides on drive C

Just Try Do The Same Process After Disabling “Automatic Restart Option” And Check Whether You get Any BSOD

napsterz,

Thanks for prompt reply.

Completely uninstalled CIS 3.8.65951.477.

Performed a clean install of CIS 3.9.76924.507 (using Finnish as language).

However, CIS automatically updated itself to 3.9.95478.509.

Now when logged on the system as Administrator and launch the Firefox (3.0.10 FI) browser using the Run As (limited account user) option, CIS no longer cause immediate system reboot or BSOD.

No matter whether “Automatic Restart Option” is enabled or disabled.

It would appear that the problem is solved (apparently with the new release).

The 509 release solved an issue with BSOD. It may be the same you were suffering from.
