CIS 3.8.65951.477 Nightmiere

CIS 3.8.65951.477 is a total disaster. From the .468 version the update causes the firewall failure, I uninstalled it and did the manual update to the .477 version and during the reboot the Administrator (account) password was corrupted :o, I could not log in to my system as the Admin, which I use for all main modifications to my main system.

After Deleting the Admin account and recreating It, I went through some thorough Diagnostics to find any issues.

This is what I found;
The corruption happened in the “Group Policy” program files in the layout and settings, the Admin (or active account) settings were corrupted, and the network control settings were also damaged in the file corruption.

These issues also (you might know this) corrupted registry settings, primarily in the HKLM\System\CCS\Services LanManServer\param, and security settings.

Because of these issues I have determined that these are the reason that others are suffering the same problems:

  • Account failures
  • Network Issues
  • Firewall problems
  • Applications Issues (primarily ones that use net connections, including internal type like Total Commander, Win Defender, Protowall, PeerGuardian, AD Aware… and others
  • Audio Issues, because some setting controllers are policy controlled
  • sub Network controlling issues like DNS and DHCP services, including the BIT services

Because of the amount of these problems caused I will have to reinstall my Operating System and completely re configure all the necessary policy settings.

My System
WinXPP x64-Fully updated
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 w/ Intel Q6600
8192 MB Mem. DDR2-800
GeForce 8600 GT & GeForce FX 5200, 3 Monitors
4 TB’s HDD total (eight drives)

The worst Issue with all the previous “Functional” CIS’s is the AV Exclusions settings, No matter what you add to the exclusions list, they ate still scanned, non affected files but, the time frame is ridiculous, If you have large Hard Drives like I do.
The AV scan takes my system more than 24 hours with my 4 TBs of Hard Drives, and many of them do not need any scanning because they are protected and monitored by me. Comodo needs to set the “Exclusions” list to disable the scan of files in the List.
