I am running Chrome sandboxed, and I made a firewall rule for it, it was set to “web browser”.
It seemed to work just fine that way, but I saw in the logs a lot of network blocks from Chrome.
I changed the firewall rule to “allowed application,”, and no more network blocks.
What was going on, and what is the recommended rule in this case?
The log will tell you why chrome was getting blocked, specifically look at the destination port and destination IP address column, chances are it’s UPnP multicast traffic looking for a chromecast device on the local network.
