Check for program updates keeps telling me a restart is required

I’m running CIS 10.0.1.6294 with W10 insider build 16296 but this problem has been there for a couple of insider builds.

If I ask CIS to check for updates I get the normal checking for signature, website database and recognizer but then it puts up a restart required against Check for Program Updates. But, I’ve restarted (several times) and it comes up with the same again.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please provide these files Windows Event logs, msinfo32.nfo:

Steps to collect msinfo32.nfo:

  1. Go to Windows Run (Windows Key + R key in keyboard).
  2. Type in msinfo32.exe and press Enter key, it will launch System Information window application.
  3. Click ‘Save’ item in ‘File’ menu and save as .nfo file.

Steps to collect Windows Event logs:

  1. Go to Windows Run (Windows Key + R key in keyboard).
  2. Type in eventvwr.exe and press Enter key, it will launch Event Viewer window application.
  3. Select ‘Windows Logs’ → ‘Application’ in opened window.
  4. Right-click on it ‘Save All Events As…’.
  5. Save as ‘Application’ events.
  6. Repeat steps 2-4 for ‘Security’, ‘Setup’, ‘System’ events.

Also please share “View Logs” window as suggested here.

Information as requested, apart from View Logs from the Update page as that is greyed out.
