CF blocking Local Network File Sharing

I am running to Windows 7 Pro PCs on the same subnet (192.168.111.x). Comodo is blocking the network traffic on the PC that is sharing its files. (see attached document for specifics / configuration).
I am using Comodo Firewall v6.1.276867.2813.
How to fix?

You also need to add two rules to System. Like with Global Rules you need to allow traffic to and from local network.

Thank you for the response. But if you look at the second page of the document, there are two rules for System, which allow traffic to/from the local network. If this is incorrect, let me know how it should be modified.

Can you show a screenshot of the Firewall logs? They may hold more information.

The Firewall Log is shown at the top of the first page. (see attachment on first post in this thread)

The problem lies in how you have defined the network zone “Home #1”, as shown in the attached doc.

As it is currently defined (192.168.111.4/255.255.255.0), it is a zone consisting of a single IP address. As such it will allow this one IP address to freely communicate with itself but communications with any other address (like 192.168.111.5) would not be allowed.

I would suggest you redo the netwoprk zone, using either a netmask or by nominiating a range of IP addresses. If you decide to use a range of addresses in the zone, don’t forget to include the gateway address.

Assuming your router is 192.168.111.1 and you have four other devices occupying 192.168.111.2 to 192.168.111.5, your network range needs to extend from 192.168.111.1 to 192.168.111.5.

Hope this helps,

Please ignore my previous reply. Your zone is defined with a network and I have incorrectly read it as being for a single IP adress.

Mea culpa.

I’ll reread your issue when I get home from work.

I want to see the traffic after you made the changes to the rule for System just to be sure I have the updated information.

From what I see there should be no problem receiving the traffic from the CIS point of view. The logs indicate something is not listening for the traffic. So there must be services or applications that would normally pick up on the chatter.

Can you check that the following services are running:
SSDPSRV (SSDP Discovery)
Mcx2Svc (Media Center Extender Service)
upnphost (UPnP Device Host)

They all are related to port 2869 (ICSLAP). I found the reference here the social.technet.com

Re: “I want to see the traffic after you made the changes to the rule for System just to be sure I have the updated information.”
I have not made any changes to the rule for System. It is what it has always been, and what it should be.

Re: Can you check that the following services are running:
SSDPSRV (SSDP Discovery)
Mcx2Svc (Media Center Extender Service)
upnphost (UPnP Device Host)

SSDPSRV is set to Manual, but has started upon bootup.
Media Center Extender Service is set to Disabled.
UPnP Device Host service is set to Manual, but has started upon bootup.

Let me know if you need further information.

Please start those services manually and see what happens.

Do you want me to Enable the Media Center Extender Service (and set to Manual)?
The other two services are already started by the time I logon.

Please do.
