CAVS - HIPS Application Control crushes windows explorer

Issue: CAVS - HIPS Application Control crushes windows explorer on launching any new .exe file, having 18000+ files in CAVS user profiled safelist DB.

To reproduce:

  1. Install Comodo AntiVirus CAVS_Setup_2.0.17.58_Beta on MS windows XP Media Center Edition, Version 2002, SP2 on Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600
  2. Run scan, to profile user safelist DB on system that has 140,000 files, to have 18,000+ files in safelist DB.
  3. Re-start the system. Launch any new .exe from desktop or any folder – system (explorer) will hang indefinitely.

4)There is another symptom accompanies explorer hang:
Open CASV, go to Settings → HIPS Application Control, click Manage button – List will start loading but application will close itself before complete list displayed.

Quick fix – disable HIPS Application Control right after windows start, before opening any applications.

Reinstall will not resolve the issue. I tried to:
Uninstall CAVS_Setup_Beta_2.0.15.51
Re-install CAVS_Setup_2.0.17.58_Beta
but both problems remain.

My assumption is that HIPS Application Control has issues operating large safelist DB.
