cavemlsp.dll almost killed me

Hi guys.

I almost got a heart attack a few minutes ago :stuck_out_tongue: Doing a HijackThis scan I found these entries :

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cavemlsp.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cavemlsp.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cavemlsp.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\cavemlsp.dll

and also :

O20 - Winlogon Notify: monln - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\monln.dll

My first reaction was : OH MY GOD, I AM HIJACKED ! But after a few seconds I realised that the letters “cav” in the O10 items could indicate that it would have something to do wit CAVS :slight_smile: And that is indeed the fact :
