CAV v1.1.268025.1 Blocks my Compaq 610 Notebook at 96/97% Full system scan (Linux Mint 14)

Operating System : Linux Mint 14 Nadia

My hardware shouldn’t be a problem, when I had Pear Linux 6, there where no problems with CAV

At first COMODO Antivirus for Linux (CAVL) v1.1.268025.1 works great when i do a system scan for Crytical Areas. and blocks the virus testfiles from Eicar: http://www.eicar.org/85-0-Download.html .

But when I run my first, second, etc Full System Scan at 96/97% it freezes my System on whatever file it’s scanning.
So for now I will run a crytical areas scan on a daily basis and use realtime protection, that works fine.

Any suggestions let me know, Thanks !!

I guess I just have to wait until the next update from CAV to see if that helps, For now i can’t figure out what gives me that problem.

It doesn’t seem likely to me that it is the % complete that prompts the freeze. Does it stop at a particualr file or folder?

Does this thread bear any resemblance

  • ie if you exclude /usr (or whatever yours freezes at) will it then work - and then can you scan /usr (or whatever) separately?

Thx Maglin, just solved the problem by adding several exclusions, the problem was my /home/* folder. Now the full system scan runs perfect.

Now when I scan /home/* with Scan Items, CAV scanner disappears from the screen, but when I scan /home// with Scan Items that works fine.
