This is funny for me . 3 Pc’s on XP SP3 does not do the update behind CentOS proxy but Vista Business PC does get the updates.
Now it looks funny. Why will Vista work and XP not?
I have to say, something has happened behind the scenes, my updates were not working earlier in the week, and I couldn’t get to the download page via a web browser either, but suddenly on Tuesday or Wednesday the updates started working flawlessly! I am not aware that I changed anything my side, but presto things are grooving as they should.
Is there any way to update virus definitions manually? Mine still doesn’t work.
Well updates work for me again. :-TU
But i hope something like this will not happen again because it feels kinda creepy running such old virus def’s
well, apparently this thread has been abandoned - so I gusss I will be abandoning Comodo as well, too bad as I think you have a promising product, but you can’t just leave people in the lurch like this on something as important as virus definition updates.
CIS updated itself to latest version today, and A/V signature update now works! (V)
Thanks guys. :-TU
I installed the newest version of CIS (3.5.55810.432) for the first time, and I am not able to update manually or automatically the virus database. I am currently at virus database version 547. Prior to this installation I had only Comodo firewall (excellent product by the way) but decided to remove my Symantec AV (enterprise edition) for CIS. I used Comodo Registry Cleaner after the removal. I checked the registry keys as advised in the other threads (which are all correct) but still not able to update. Any ideas ?
I resolved my A/V updating issue by changing the service account to my login account for the CFP helper. I was then able to update the virus definitions. BTW running Vista Bus. SP2.
Same problem, been using CIS for a couple of weeks and currently using CIS 3.5.55810.432.
The virus database hasn’t been updated for two days.
Error message.
Failed to update…
Please check your internet connection…
I have the same problem with the 432 version. Then I uninstalled the 432 version and back to the 427 version. The problem is gone with the 427 version. The path in the registry for the virus database updates is the same. I don’t know why I can update the virus database in one version and not in the other. Also I don’t know what kind of bug the 432 version has, but I will stay with the 427 version meanwhile the bug is fixed.
I read 432 version´s AV updates does not use the IE proxy settings, then what proxy settings it use, where do I configure the proxy settings???
I have same problem after update to latest CIS - same message.
Peculiar
I using CIS on two laptops, both with Vista SP1. Same configuration, same version of CIS (.432), no proxy.
No other anti-virus or anti-spyware, besides Defender.
One is updating virus database, one is not.
Now i can not update the antivirus database, while updating it i get error “Error code 0x800705aa. insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service” and when i click on “about” i see virus signature database version is 0

now i can not even scan my pc as message comes"Error code 0x800705aa. insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service"
What you need to do is download the newest CIS,
https://forums.comodo.com/empty-t30300.0.html
Uninstall the version on your system, and do a clean install of the new version.
This will resolve your issue.
Thanks for that suggestion but i already had the latest version which u r referring me to download, and done reinstalling it more than 3 times now… still same problem i done clean installation every time , as i uninstall the cis and then reboot then reinstalled it again… but the problem continues
Try uninstalling CIS in safe mode. Then delete all Comodo related folders you can find. Also let a registry scanner run and get rid off Comodo related keys. You can try Comodo Registry Cleaner which does a very thorough job. Remember to let CRC make a restore point before deleting stuff (I think it will ask by default after scanning). Get CRC here: http://registry-cleaner.comodo.com/ .
The error you are getting seems to suggest CIS is not getting sufficient access rights. Did you change them? Also make sure your system is free of malware. Let your AV run and also the following spyware scanners:
Malwarebytes antilmalware
Super Antispyware
Spybot Search and Destroy
Trial version of Spy Sweeper.
Looks like I’m also getting this, since the latest update. It seems on and off, so trying to see if something causes it, but so far unsuccessful.
@ Devenroy - does the main screen of CIS show if there is anything wrong like the screenshots I’ve posted below?

Could you please give a detailed explanation of what you mean by changing the service account to your login account for the CFP helper and how to go about doing it.
