Hi there,
I don’t know if i’ve got a virus or something but Comodo has recently failed to update its virus database saying that it cannot establish a connection to the servers. All my other programs internet work fine (exception, weirdly i tried installing Avira and that couldn’t access the internet either). I’ve scanned with malware bytes and found nothing, so i thought i’d do a full scan with Comodo antivirus aswell.
Now for the reason i am posting this thread, i cannot perform a scan without updating the virus database, as it fails. Really? so because a virus is blocking Comodos ability to update i cant run a scan to find the virus either, am i doing something wrong here or is that a massive flaw in the Comodo anti virus?
All help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt
Hi,
if you are on Windows 10 it could be that your CIS is not working.
If you think that you have a Virus and Comodo is corrupted you could try this Kostenlose Antivirus Plugins und Apps - Bitdefender Toolbox or the Comodo Rescue Disk
Thanks

Hi there, thanks for your reply.
I am running windows 8.1 so shouldn’t be any compatibility issues there.
I’ve reinstalled comodo anti virus so i don’t think it can be corrupt either.
Might have to move to AVG or something, i can’t sit here looking at a big “At Risk” sign and just do nothing because comdo is incapable of updating or running a scan its essential just wasting space on my hard drive.
Shame - i’ve been using CIS for a good amount of years now!
Cheers
HI,
the problem is, if you have a virus which interferes with CIS, uninstalling and installing it again means nothing. The virus will still interferer. You have to do a scan from something that is not on your system. Like a Live CD, the Rescue Disk or the online scanner. Did you install something else? Some other Security Software or something like that. CIS doesn’t stop working on it’s own, something happened, we just need to find out what…
Thanks

Hi there,
Nothing installed or downloaded since it stopped working, i hardly even use my laptop any more!
This online scanning tool you speak of, do you have any recommendations of which to use? I’m curious to give that a try and see what it finds.
Thanks
