Can't turn on 'On Access Scanner' - Error CAV003

Hi,

The On Access Scanner will not turn on. I get error “CAV003 - On Access Scanner failed to start.”

Any ideas?

Another reason not mentioned by the provided links is that an update was installed that requires the system to restart - in that case, on access scans will be disabled and when you look under services, the CAV state will be “stopping” with no possibility of changing.
