I just downloaded the latest version from the EVPN site. I usualy use Hamachi to create a virtual LAN, but since i have a good experience with COMODO products (CIS and CSC), i decided to give EVPN a try, but i seem to have a problem here. So, i installed it normally, but when i tried to register, it kept saying the connection timed out. im a bit of a noob on this kind of issues, so any help would be greatly apreciated.
As i mencioned, i use CIS and i even changed the policy of EVPN to trusted on the fw, but nothing.
I am unable to register as well… only I am getting the error ‘Generic error for access violation’. I get this on 2 pc’s running DSL behind a router. Any ideas?
Is there any firewall active on those systems that could be blocking something ?
If CIS is installed test it with FW and D+ disabled see if that makes a difference.
Yes I am running CIS and I do have the latest version of both pieces of software. I have also tried to disable both FW and D+ by right clicking on the systray icon. Did this on both PC’s. I think it’s something on my network, do I need to open a port on my router?

I have registered an account via a different location and even using my user and password within my network I get the same message. Outside of my network I connect just fine. I just not sure what setting it could be.
ok… I found the problem. It turns out when installing VPN the Windows Firewall would enable itself apparently because it detected a new IP/Network, it moved the setting to public which blocked the connection. While the VPN was running I went into the Windows Firewall settings and turned it off again. Now it works. Thank you for all your help.
Yeah, in fact I am 100% sure it was off on both machines before the install. Very interesting… the only reason I discovered it was on was because at that particular time I was issued a new IP from my provider and the windows firewall picked it up wanting me to choose a network profile. Weird. It’s all good now though. Thanks again for all your help.

Their seems to be a bit of strangeness in the “Windows firewall = ON/OFF” and the “Windows Firewall with Advanced Security” display settings.
You can have Windows firewall put to “OFF” while Advanced shows it ON for profile public/private/domain.
Bit confusing from M$.
I found 2 of 3 profiles also activated again, I’ve put them back to OFF will monitor this a bit closer…
Also if you put more Audit logging to the system it’s still reporting that Windows Filtering Platform is allowing this or that process to access port… basically the startup of a process, not “real” Network traffic only the “Localhost” stuff…
man, im having problems here.
I cant register nor login… i dont know why, I receive this message every time I try to register or to login → “The requested connection has been refused by the remote host”
Can anyone help me? Im running windows vista in a notebook and i have windows firewall off already…

I am in Canada, and I am using eVPN. Note though, the servers were down today, and as of this posting, I still can’t log eVPN back into the servers.
Please, don’t get national here. Comodo products are for the world, not just one country.
