Hi - I have just downloaded Comodo Firewall and antivirus, installed the firewall and then tried to install the antivirus - the antivirus will not install because it says it conflicts with the firewall !!! - HELP
Try to use your Start Menu to go to Comodo Firewall and select Add and Remove Components, then tick Antivirus and continue.
Hi - thanks for the reply - just tried that, and unfortunatelly it’s still insisting that i have to uninstall Comodo Firewall before i can install Comodo antivirus!
Any other ideas?
Then do uninstall what you have, you should have downloaded the installer for Comodo Internet Security and selected firewall and av before installing. Maybe you have an old version of the firewall, you should be installing 5.3 the latest version.
I had this same issue, and it doesn’t involve an old version of either program. On one of the download pages (Firewall Download | Best Firewall Security software for Windows), the three options are firewall, antivirus, or internet security (both); however, the link for the first two are the free versions, and the link for internet security (both) is for the pro.
Accordingly, I downloaded the firewall and antivirus separately, but only one of these can be installed. If you try to install either after the first is installed, the installer will not allow you to proceed. I attempted it both ways, and with the newest versions.
I had to do some searching on the site, but I found the file that I needed - internet security premium (not pro): Download Antivirus for Mac | Free Antivirus Software for Mac.
This could be laid out better.
No, the third link is for the premium (free) version of CIS. That is why it is on the free download page.
Regardless of which version you choose, all of the installers have the capability of installing the full CIS suite. If you’ll notice, all three installers on the page you linked to are the same size. The installer scripts are just different to make standalone firewall or AV installations easier, but at any time you can use the Add and Remove Components wizard to add additional modules to your installation. So for example if you downloaded the firewall installer and decided later that you wanted to try the AV, you could just use the wizard to add the AV to your Firewall and you would have the full suite.
Ha - I’ve just had this ‘problem’, but thanks to google and this thread it’s now solved. Thanks
BTW the Geekbuddy person I chatted with just suggested re-installing, so I’m not so impressed with them as I was.
