I am running XP Pro SP3 Fully updated with CIS 5.9.219863.2196 database v 11248.
For some time now CIS has detected the following: Rootkit.HiddenValue@0 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\CmdMapping{c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a}
The program will not remove, quarantine or submit it. It says, Not a suitable action for this threat (or something similar)
I have scanned with GMER, Malwarebytes, Spybot, and TDSSKiller but nothing is found.
When I type it into Google it appears that quite a few people have come across it on their machines. Some say it is a virus, some say it is not a virus but that it is the ALEXA toolbar. I have never had the ALEXA toolbar but I did have the Ask toolbar which was uninstalled about 2 years ago.
The computer behaves normally so I am inclined to think that it is a false positive.
I have tried to locate the file so that I can report it as a false positive but I am unable to locate it on the system.
Comodo flags it up each time I do a scan.
Please can someone tell me what action to take to prevent this happening?
Best regards
