Just installed this firewall and I want to know why I cannot access the net once it’s installed. Firefox is allowed access to the net but no pages disaply (connection refused), I can access my router CP though (192.168.2.1).
When I had Sygate Pro installed it used to ask me if I wanted to allow ndisuio.sys access to the net. If I press no, I don’t get on the Internet, if I press yes I can use the net. Is there some problem with ndisuio.sys because I do not get asked if this can have access to the Internet? If I add application >> ndisuio.sys I still have no net access.
Also my zone is IEEE 802.11g Wireless Cardbus/PCI Adapter - 192.168.2.0 - 192.168.2.255
Another useful thing to do is look for an update for your wireless adapter. Mines and Intel and I only recently found out that there was a driver upgrade for it. It fixed a lot of instability problems I was having. Here’s the site: http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-005905.htm
Also, if you don’t have the KB 893357 hotfix and if you’re running WPA-PSK you might consider the Windows Hotfix which will enable you to connect using WPA2 and WPA2-PSK as well as making your WPA-PSK more stable. Here’s the info and download link: Microsoft Support
Both fixed a lot of Wireless problems I was having. Just thought you might find this useful.
Also, can you open CPF, go to ‘security’ tab, then ‘network monitor’, click the ‘block’ rule, then choose edit, put a tick by ‘create an alert if this rule is fired’, click Ok. Try to connect again, then open CPF, go to ‘activity’ tab and select ‘logs’. Can you then post a screenshot of these logs so we can see if anything is blocked.
Plus, what version of CPF are you using? Can you try the beta it fixed some issues and may solve these, but you will need to uninstall then reinstall when it becomes a stable release next week.
