can we really make a virus on notepad?

u mite b interested in this site http://www.usbhacks.com/
chek out the exploit tools for some very “useful” tools (well depend on ur moral standard) and how-tos for creating a simple bat file…

FYI, AVG AS, A2 can detect these tools.

Avast 4.7 home could detect the “txt file” virus havent tried others and i wont…

WOW :o, let’s do something nasty ;D ;D

then CAVS or AVIRA can do it too.

The only really useful tool is ProduKey.exe
I dun support the idea of drilling others’ privacy (uhmm…, maybe xcept ur gf  )
Use at ur own risk. Got caught dun say learn from Comodo, a computer security company ;D

Nice to know ( and yes I did mean only text in code-tags )

If you want to see some really scary stuff then have a look at this :
edit I have removed the links due to forum-rules…
Google is your friend !

NOTE : despite what your AV may (or may not!!) say NONE of the executables
used in the Hacksaw/Switchblade are viruses.
They are legitimate programs, many are used frequently by system-admins …
it’s the way they are used that makes them dangerous .
(if you are from Germany a lot of the programs are illegal)

This is only for educational purposes …
don’t use it to hijack other peoples computers or steal their data.
Not only is it illegal to do so but it is also LAME and unethical .

Gordon, dats exactly wat I introduce in usbhacks site.

where u got this info? theres chance dat its like p2p.
But bare in mind, compounded inside switchblade r tools to hack ur product key, network pass, IE pass, encrypted storage pass, cookies… even system-admins r not allowed to oversee some of these data.

Guys, I’m afraid I’m going to have you all stop linking websites that might come close to this:

Forum Policy:

Illegal Stuff. Comodo is focused on building trust on the internet. Users discussing or inciting illegal activity, or posting anything illegal or inappropriate will be warned or banned as appropriate.

haha tru, we r movin on hack tools instead of virus on notepad

absolutely, out of sight out of mind, ignorance is bliss, security by obscurity, etc etc etc…
lets just not talk about it, maybe that makes it go away by itself ?..
Since this is a security-site you can’t avoid having discussions about illegal activity …
isn’t the whole purpose of most of your products to protect us from those illegal activities ?
but it’s your forum, you make the rules, so I will remove the links .
Lets do like they’ve done in Germany :outlaw all applications that can be used for illegal purposes.
as an example : If you (comodo) in the German sub-forum suggested a user located in Germany
to download wireshark to pin-point a network-problem you would be advising him to download
an illegal program, thus “inciting a crime”… pretty dumb law if you ask me .

Actually the hacksaw/switchblade is a “proof of concept” project.
One of the things it can demonstrate is just how good Comodo Firewall really is …
Comodo won’t let ANY of the programs connect to the net …
Another thing it demonstrates is WHY you should be VERY careful about using
your Flash-drive or USB-HDD on a public computer : you risk having ALL your data copied
by evil script-kiddies who don’t give a ■■■■ about laws or “hacker-ethics”.
It also shows that Antivirus-programs DO NOT even remotely “guarantee” that you are safe …

… and it IS relevant to this topic since everything is controlled by batch-files and
.vbs-scripts and guess what they are written with ?
Last : this whole topic is in reality nonsensical because there is no such thing as a “.txt-virus”.
a .txt-file is not executable and therefore it can’t DO anything .

Interesting argument, Gordon! Soya, wat u gonna say?

Firstly: I did not specify which links were bad, but if you took it that way then it’s your own perspective and that I can’t control. Just a FYI: Gordon, your links were actually fine because as you just stated, these are just proof of concepts from Wiki. If they were really bad I would’ve removed them myself and not just left them.

Secondly: I am not Comodo staff and those aren’t my rules. I’m just “enforcing” them, if you will. I had to refer to that forum policy to prevent any future posts from drawing closer to that area. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

I’m convinced by Gordon that in order to acknowledge security, u need to first kno wat risks u mite b involved.

Its like u teach ur son how to use condom.

now this is illegal and off topic ;D

No, nothings illegal.

Face it, u may need to do it one day. And if u wanna do dat, do it early (hell, the time my dad showed me, I laughed all da time coz too late alr (:LGH))

better safe than sorry

stay calm, friends

(:HUG)

and the winning answer is:

YES; WE CAN. But would it be a good one?

Depends on WHODUNIT, maybe, whether it can be done or not. Do you know WHODUNIT? Or ever met WHODUNIT? I can tell you he’s a great guy. He always did it, you know?

:BNC

who’s whoduit? ???

Well, some of us may know WHODUNIT, but, frankly, if I was the one who knew WHODUIT, i guess I’d be employed by some Big Bill who’d pay me a sack of dollars every day to show him WHODUNIT and WHOLLDOIT.

In case of Bill, I guess NOONELLDOIT.

Cheers
The REBOL

open yor notepad and type 1010…and goes on repeating it indefinitly till size becomes 3-4 kb then savr it as .Exe when you will execute it it wont cause any thing but nmay cause bufferoverflow if yor not luck enoug some of process may get destablised and you may end in crash
