Can someone check if i setup my gaming rules correct =]

I read the FAQ and just want to make sure i’m setting up the rules correct.

Game is Counter-Strike and the TCP Ports are 27020-27039 while the UDP Ports are 1200, 27000-27015.

With that said … here are the rules

[1]
Action: Allow
Protocol: TCP
Direction: In/Out

Source IP/Destination IP: Any
Source Port: Any
Destination Port: 27020-27039

[2]
Action: Allow
Protocol: UDP
Direction: In/Out

Source IP/Destination IP: Any
Source Port: Any
Destination Port: 1200

[3]
Action: Allow
Protocol: UDP
Direction: In/Out

Source IP/Destination IP: Any
Source Port: Any
Destination Port: 27000-27015

these fine?

BUMP

Can anyone check the rules to make sure they are fine?

cheers, rotty

The rules look right, the ports are correct - all systems should be go. The rules you’ve defined are how I’ve set CS up on a router before, so there’s no reason why they won’t work.

Since you have A) CounterStrike and B) CPF, why not run a live test? The worst thing that could happen is it will not work, but you should be right.

Hope this helps,

well i only ask because i come form using LnS and I noticed that when I updated LnS to 2.05p3 … counterstrike didn’t respond as well anymore … could possibly be a routing issue … but it felt that my shots weren’t connecting and some packets were getting loss … not sure if allowing the tcp and udp ports matters to be honest … i just figured why not lol … counterstrike worked before i added these rules … but thanks for checking … learned something new
