can p2p prog open ports on demand?

Can I configure a p2p program to open ports in CMD on startup and close ports on program shutdown? Or do I have to write a network rule to leave the ports open all the time?

Usually, you have to make one network rule for the listening port in the p2p program. Then make a application rule that suits your needs. I dont think the ports are open all the time… make a rule, then run a port-scanner.

When you open p2p software (like Azureus), it will open port (based on rules).
When you shut down the program, the port is closed (Azureus: Opened, Closed).
