Can I Use Comodo To Block Access to a Website?

Hello - I just downloaded and intalled CIS (Firewall only). So far, it seems like a great firewall. I would like to use it to block access for my kids to myspace.com. Can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to do this. Thank you very much!

G’day,

  1. Open CIS
  2. CLick FIREWALL->ADVANCED->NETWORK SECURITY POLICY->GLOBAL RULES
  3. Click ADD
  4. Action : BLOCK
  5. Protocol : TCP OR UDP
  6. Direction : OUT
  7. Description : Block MySpace
  8. Source Address : ANY
  9. Destination Address : HOST NAME - 216.178.38.116
  10. Source Port : ANY
  11. Destination Port : ANY
  12. APPLY
  13. In the Global Rules window, click on the newly created MySPace rule and use the UP button to move it to the top of the list.
  14. Click APPLY

Hope this helps,

Go to Firewall > Comon Tasks > My Blocked Networks Zones
Click Add > A New Blocked Address
Check A Host Name and enter www.myspace.com in the box next to it.
Then just hit apply.

Thanks so much to both of you. Worked perfectly!

No worries - we’re here to help.

FYI :

[Lua]madman’s repliy is the convenient way to do it. My way is the old fashioned manual way to do it. In the end they accomplish the same task.

Cheers,
