Can CIS Antivirus Module be Disabled?

I want top firewall protection without the aggressive marketing, so I thought I would buy CIS. Comodo Free Personal Firewall hounds users to death to buy CIS. Fine, okay, whatever. The caveat is that I prefer to use my own anti-malware (antivirus + anti-malware, brand irrelevant).

What I need to know is, can I disable the entire (every aspect of) antivirus module in CIS 2013, leaving only the (paid for) firewall operating?

I’m not exactly sure what you’re talking about when you state that users are hounded to death to buy CIS if they’re using the Premium (Free) version.

However, yes you can disable the AV. In fact, even better, you can choose not to install it in the first place. Just click on the Customize Installer link at the bottom of the installer window.

You can also uninstall it if you already have it installed. Just use the Add or Remove Components feature in the Programs menu.

Hi thensometx088,
Disable Comodo Message Center and the Welcome Screen in the user interface settings.
This should remove any unwanted notifications.
