It’s using up 50% of my PC resource, and won’t terminate.

How can I make it go away, and stop it from reappearing?

Click Tasks > Advanced Tasks > Open Advanced Settings > Expand Security Settings > Expand Anti-Virus > Click Realtime Scan > Uncheck Enable scanning optimizations.

This should prevent cavwp from running the background cache builder, however your scan time will dramatically increase.
