building a fresh copy of win7 32bit

Offline installer - CIS wasn’t properly signed. Error: 2148098050
I am building a fresh copy of win7 pro 32bit.
When I try to install offline comodo cispremium_only_installer v12.2.2.8012, I get these errors:

  1. Comodo internet security wasn’t properly signed. installation aborted.
  2. Cannot install Comodo internet security Error 2148098050. The certificate for the signer of the message is invalid or not found

kb4474419 is installed.

What else is needed to get past this error?
I prefer to NOT connect to the net BEFORE Comodo is installed…

See the release topic at the bottom where it says “Only for Windows 7 users”.
You need to install kb4490628 too.

Just checked; this is also installed…
Still the same error…

Do you have kb3033929 installed too?

yes, thanks kb3033929 is also already installed

next?

“The certificate for the signer of the message is invalid or not found”
any ideas as to what “certificate” &/or “message” is being referred to?

Could it be that an internet connection is required for Windows to get or check that certificate during CIS installation?

I hope not.

Offline installer - CIS wasn’t properly signed

sounds like “Catch 22”

go online to setup an offline program…

You could check for installed certificates by running “certmgr.msc” and then select from the certmgr menu “Action->Find Certificates” and paste “Comodo” in the “Contains” field and click “Find Now”.
I hope it finds some Comodo certificates for you otherwise there is the catch I’m afraid…

go online to setup an offline program…
Just tried it.
OK, so if Comodo has never been installed on a new install of win 7, You MUST be ONline to run the OFFline installer or you get this “CIS wasn’t properly signed. Error: 2148098050”.
I guess a full scan AFTER should find anything that sneaks by in the meantime.
Wait!! I thought comodo…
G****le the gatekeeper wins again.

Thanks for your help

You’re welcome!

If only we could download the Comodo certificates and install them ourselves beforehand…
