Bug in cmdagent.exe, computer locks up after error report (V3.9.95478.509 X32)

Lately I’ve been getting an error every once in a while from CIS. It seems to happen whenever it tries to update its virus database (although sometimes it updates just fine). It comes up with an error message that simply says:


I click OK, and then it says that I found a bug in cmdagent.exe and it needs to close. It gives me the option to fill out what I was doing at the time and send an error report. Now, I can choose to send or not to send, but whichever one I choose my computer immediately locks up, and I have to force it to shut down.

If I ignore the message in the first place and just leave it open, I get no problems. I’ve also tried removing CIS and reinstalling, but the problem is still there. A week or two ago, this wasn’t happening at all.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Oh yeah, I should add that I’m using Windows XP Pro SP3, 32-bit version.
I’m using an administrator account.
I don’t have any other actively-running security applications.
Antivirus is on ‘Stateful’, Firewall and Defense+ are on ‘Safe Mode’.
