Bug continually updating Database. V5.5

It seems I cant create a topic, so I write here.

Found small bug which can be easily fixed, I think.
Using CIS 5.5. Antivirus disabled. But database was downloading every 20 minutes when “Automatically update” was on in scanner options. But the database had the same date 9/14/2012.
So it was downloading 157.8 MB every 20 minutes from 178.255.82.1, until I saw it and disabled. It is a waste of traffic.
You can check log file on server 178.255.82.1 for today, my IP is “IP removed by Mod”.
Mod edit: Added to title for clarity after split.

Hi sasjhqwhgjasdh,
Topic creation should have been possible for you, if you continue to have trouble we will look into this further.

May I suggest an uninstall/reinstall with the current version. The current version can be downloaded in the following topic, COMODO Internet Security 5.10.228257.2253 Hope that helps solve the issue. Kind regards.

It seems I just didn’t find “new topic” button because it’s so hidden (white on gray in unexpected place).

CIS A/V update failure is virtually always a memory issue. If a re-install doesn’t solve the problem I’d suggest you try the 7-zip, tools, benchmark test. ANY failure is indiciative of memory sub-system failure.

Its always a good idea to export your configuration periodically. That way you don’t have to start from scratch should a re-install be necessary.

In your case, i.e., v5.5 config, its not recommended to import into v5.10. SO I would’ve exported v5.5 config, detach from internet, remove and re-install v5.5, then import v5.5 config. Temporarily disable auto A/V update, then UPGRADE to v5.10 - via check for updates - and then manually update A/V defs.
