BSOD on re-boot after install

I’m trying to install Comodo Personal Firewall on my Win2k SP4 machine.

The machine has Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5, K9 web filter (www.k9webprotection.com/) and Grisoft AVG 7.5.432 free version as its current security software.

Prior to installing Comodo, I uninstalled Kerio and the K9 web filter and re-booted the machine to ensure it was “clean”.

I then installed Comodo (v.2.3.6.81), which asked me to re-boot once it was installed.

Upon re-boot, the machine did a BSOD before my login prompt appeared. Event viewer recorded:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: G:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini121906-02.dmp.

The only way to get out of this was to boot into safe mode and uninstall Comodo. Booting into safe mode with networking also caused a BSOD.

Any ideas? Kerio v2.1.5 is getting somewhat long-in-the-tooth now, and Comodo did come to me highly recommended. It just doesn’t seem to like my machine!

Thanks for any help,

Ian

Sorry to follow-up my own post, but just noticed in event log that prior to the fatal error, it also recorded:

"The DNS Client service depends on the TCP/IP Protocol Driver service which failed to start because of the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning. "

and then a raft of other services (TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service etc) failed to start.

This all happenned about 1s before the BSOD error above.

Thanks again,

Ian

Can you please zip and attach the memory dump for us to see the cause?

Thx,
Egemen
