New guy here. Since the big Microsoft update a couple weeks ago, all 3 of my browsers will freeze up for several minutes and not allow me to even shut them down. Every time it says at the bottom of the browser that something is uploading, downloading or waiting for akamai.net. Sometimes it has numbers in front of the akamai.net, sometimes it shows akamaihd.net. It has got worse and worse and has caused the browser often and my whole computer sometimes to crash. I can’t figure out how to disable this in Comodo. I very carefully read what others posted here, but could someone break this down for a guy who knows nothing about code and systems?
I split your topic from the topic where you originally posted it in.
I am not sure what the exact nature of your problem is so I will look into it from various angles to see if we can get a handle on the problem.
Let’s start with browser basics. Delete cache and cookies of the browser and restart them. Or use a third party tool, like f.e. CCleaner, to do it for you when the browsers are not running.
Then start a [url=How to Open MS-DOS Command Prompt :: cmd.exe and command.exe]command prompt and run the following command from there:
ipconfig /flushdnsThat should solve a problem with DNS resolving.
Also let various scanners scan your system for a possible malware infection. Use the following scanners as well as the AV solution you have installed:
Malwarebytes Antimalware
Super Antispyware
Hitman Pro
