BOClean Datestamps

Yesterday, 23 April, I uninstalled my paid version of BOClean 4.22 and installed Comodo BOClean 4.23. The install went smoothly as has the program’s subsequent operation — apart from the traybar icon and the popup operations menu’s graphics, no appreciable differences are apparent between the two versions.

However, one thing that has intrigued me with 4.23 that was not apparent with 4.22 is the datestamps of the database updates. As an example, the update I downloaded last evening bore the datestamp of 2007-04-24 01:03:29 while the corresponding New York time was 8.35am 23/4.

As I understand Comodo’s Corporate HQ is located in New Jersey, curious to know what influences the time/date of the CBOC database updates e.g. programming/server location?.

ThePlanet is only one of several servers Comodo uses for updates. I don’t remember the specifics, but Comodo staffer has given information that indicates which server is accessed is geocentric. So for instance Eastern European users probably wouldn’t see the same connection a North American user would.

I know that’s not an answer, but I wanted to clarify about the server. I don’t know if the datestamp is server-dependent or not.
