Blocking Websites [Resolved]

Hi, just installed the latest release version & was wondering how I would go about blocking websites eg porn, betting etc? I’ve switched from Kerio Personal Firewall to Comodo & it has improved since I last used it (:CLP) The main reasons I switched were because the fact it’s free, passes many leaktests & the sleak look of it, but I miss things like blocking of websites/ad’s that kerio had, also password protecting the firewall. Password protection is important to me as family members would be likely to mess around with alerts from Comodo & could be fatal to the system. Thanks for any help that I may receive. Keep up the great work. :■■■■

Welcome to the forum!

You can’t do this right now with this firewall (you can only block if you know the adress), maybe in the future. Check the wishlist-thread, and put this suggestion there if it is not there

This is a feature that will come in later versions, I don’t know exactly when

You can actually block sites by setting up a network monitor rule.
There are no way of adding a list or so, but you can add them one by one.
Go to Network monitor (security/network monitor).
Right click on your top (ID 0) rule and add/add before.
Do these settings.

Action : Block
Protocol : IP
Direction : Out
Source IP : Any
Destination IP : Host name: www.myfavoritexxxsite.com
IP Details : Any

Remember to keep these block sites rules on the top of the list.

Ok thanks for the information, just tested it & works perfect  Because this method works, if I were to add this to the request list (if it hasn’t been done already) would it be considered do you think or not as it can be done another way?

Add it to the list. Comodo is very diligent about following up on user requests, and figuring out ways to implement. They work almost exclusively from the WishList, so make sure it’s in there!
